Juan

2015

Some time ago I stumbled upon a photograph of my grandfather Juan in which his eyes were closed. This peculiarity triggered again a forgotten concern I have had of knowing about his person, for I barely met him. The desire to discover more about him, dragged me into photography where I started to carefully observe the photographs paying attention to all that surrounded him: the places, the distances between bodies, the anatomies, the frictions, the shadows, the emptiness. Thereby discovering minimal, interstitial, peripheral spaces in relation to the prominence of faces and the matter of the events on the images.
